I'm just gettin' started on the whole Hafez al-Assad theme, my friend.
Oh, I know a few Antiochian priests who explain +Philip by simply saying "He's a Ba'athist."
The Romanian treasurer of our little mission sees strong similarities between +Philip and Ceaucescu--notably the cult of personality in The Word Magazine.
I think Ceacescu and Assad were friends back in the day.
The article is quite fascinating. I'll have to ponder it. There are some important insights into +MP's behavior. Hummmmm.
